Elementary Camp at Suttle Lake combines traditional camp activities with meaningful experiences in Christian community. The lake, tie dye, gaga ball, archery, hammocks, hiking trails, and more are ready to be enjoyed with new and old friends. Caring counselors will help provide a safe, supportive environment where campers can try new things, explore the natural world and deepen their connection with God.
Together we'll worship under the trees, by the lake, and around the campfire. Our camp theme will help us recognize that "Creation Speaks". As a community of faith we'll explore scripture, including the Creation story, and the natural world along with spiritual practices that connect us to God. Light, water, earth, seasons, animals, humans, and even a day of rest will invite campers to listen for God, still speaking to them today. Music, art, games, and conversations will enrich our exploration.
Through these experiences campers don’t just have fun, but they also learn the kinds of skills and values that will carry them forward through life. These life skills include practicing compassion, compromise, planning, team-work, recognizing God in everyday experiences, and more.
This is an eucumenical event with the Disciples of Christ Church.
