LARC (Liturgical Arts Renewal@Collins) is an ongoing series of worship resource events here at the Alton L. Collins Retreat Center. Nationally-known leaders from across the country facilitate intense, one-day workshops designed to offer practical tools for anyone involved in worship leadership: preachers, praise band musicians, choir directors, banner-makers, song leaders, organists, worship team members, scripture readers, and more. Regardless of your particular style of worship, LARC will help you understand how to integrate creative arts and solid theology into weekly worship that has passion and integrity.

LARC features an emphasis on team planning for worship; the series is designed to be especially helpful for clergy/lay collaboration.

Typically, each event begins at 9:00 am and concludes by 4:00 pm, with a bonus overnight and evening with the clinician as an optional add-on preceding the program.

The cost for each LARC program is $65 for a full day of workshops, resources, and interaction with nationally-known worship leaders in the small-group setting here at Collins. This includes an excellent lunch and full use of our retreat facilities. The optional overnight is priced at just $65, which is a discounted rate for double-occupancy lodging with dinner and breakfast. As a bonus, for no additional fee you'll also receive the opportunity for an extra afternoon workshop (scheduled for 4:30 pm the day before the regular LARC session), dinner with the clinician, and an evening program. The overnight option is available for the evening preceding the event.

Continuing Education Units (CEU's) for LARC are available at no additional charge; each event offers .5 CEU. Be sure to select this option on the registration form--click the green button below to register for LARC.

Please note that LARC is on hiatus for 2016 while our program director and LARC coordinator, Laura Jaquith Bartlett, is busy directing all 27 worship services for the General Conference of The United Methodist Church, a global gathering of the entire denomination help just once every four years. LARC will return in 2017--if there is demand for it. Are you interested in more of these hands-on, creative workshops that can help transform your church's worship life?
